Esoteric spiritual science in plain sight.

Diving right in! …

IS-RA-EL represents the essence of the whole of existence itself.
IS – “I” (or Eye) Center (more on “is” here)
RA – Radius
EL – Ellipse

3 principles in 1 (whole tri-unity, or holy trinity)
It turns out, the word holy comes from the word whole (as in whole circle). Religion has, indeed, done its job to mystify this simple concept.

Correspondingly, some have pointed out the Egyptian mythology comparative, using characters ISIS, RA, EL.

Today’s physicists, though limited by a materialistic science, know that all is electromagnetic in nature (also known as “light”). All is light. The electromagnetic spectrum is also known as the ‘light’ spectrum. Light, in simple terms, is radiant energy… or, electromagnetic radiation, a fraction of which is visible to our eyes. But it’s also much more than that, as consciousness itself also follows this pattern.

Everything IS. Ra, radiant, radiation, radius… El, electro, electric, ellipse.

IS is the spectator, RA is the race, EL is the circuit.

ELectrical circuits. Are we all ‘ELs’ participating in the eternal motion.

Let’s break down the numerology of the whole term IS-RA-EL… the numbers always tell the truth.

IS: “I” [I:8 S:19] —> [27] —> [9]

RA: Male [R:18 A:1] —> [19] —> [1]

EL: Female [E:5 L:12] —> [17] —> [8]

RA[1]+EL[8]=IS[9]; similarly RA[1]+EL[8]+IS[9] = 18 (more on this below)

You’ve seen it before, the line and the circle representing male and female. Well, here it is again. And the numerological numbers above reveal an important material pattern (maternal, paternal): the numerology of male, RA (1), and female, EL (8), come together to make “18” – this is important… We know that half of the whole circle is 180 degrees. In numerology, this will be simplified as “18.” In the same way, for example, the ‘number of the beast’ (from the book of Revelations) is 666 (6+6+6=‘18’ as three sixes ‘36’). These are circular numbers (half circle is 180 degrees, whole circle is 360 degrees). The ‘beast’ is a lower (animal, animated) nature manifested as flesh – half of the whole. Similarly, a newborn child is the new whole, where Father and Mother each make up half of the child’s image and the other half to the order of the stars. As the pattern goes, opposites overlap and a new soul rises. Soul, sol, solar, soleil, sun, son. The son of God is you.

More on “666” from a biblical angle:

666 from the book of Revelation is the numerological representation of the isometric triangle (or equilateral), which has three angles at 60 degrees (60, 60, 60, for a total of 180 degrees). The triangle is the rudimentary form of the tri-unity principle. The tendency in ‘life’ seems to lean toward the ever present desire of unifying these complimentary forms (opposing polarities), symbolized by the Star of David and its two isometric triangles (60, 60, 60 + 60, 60, 60 = 360).

Star of David. David means “to divide.” It represents the two polarities in union and perfect harmony. One a mirror of the other. The symbol also leads the mind to concepts of “as above, so below” – the law of correspondence.

An interesting parrallel in 1 Chronicles…

Of the half-tribe of Manasseh (means half-minded) 18,000, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David (divide) king (corona, circle, 360 degrees).

1 Chronicles 12:31

Two halves coming coming together. All of this is about polarity, revealed through allegories. Whether these allegories are mere personifications or actual happenings is not my current focus. The pattern is the teacher.

It is science. It is con-science. Or, simply, consciousness.

It helps to define things:

conscious (adj.)
c. 1600, “knowing, privy to” (poetic), from Latin conscius “knowing, aware,” from conscire “be (mutually) aware,” from assimilated form of com “with,” or “thoroughly” (see con-) + scire “to know” (see science).

Instead of “trusting the science” of some external source, maybe it’s time to trust your “conscience.” Perhaps we might appreciate the profound consciousness in all things by deeply grasping rudimentary geometric principles. Consider that spirit might be understood by the spiral, the pattern of regeneration, the pattern of electromagnetic motion.

What is this center path “between fire and water” all about? Why do religions all around the world seem to pivot on this axiom?

Regeneration, new beginnings, new life. Father, Mother, Child. Paternal, Maternal, Eternal. Pattern in Matter – the carrying on of the “lineage.” This pattern manifests itself spiritually (that is, spirally), electrically (elliptically), in all ways. Observe the Caduceus below – a symbol used at the pillars of society. what do you see when both serpents (or male/female polarities of the ‘sine’ wave) intersect?

The end of each cycle is succeeded by a new one. The end of one is the beginning of the next. Do you see the 1 and the 8? The ‘8’ is many things… it is cellular division, it is many wombs, as the Proto-Indo-European root of ‘woman’ is ultimately from ‘weip’ which means ‘to turn,’ used in words such as ‘vibrate.’ Together with the rod, this becomes the double helix, genetic principles, two spirals around a center. The seed/rod (male, lineage, pole in polarity) pierces through the generations bringing about regeneration. “Gene” (PIE) means ‘give birth, beget,’ so we might definitively say this is the death and rebirth cycle mediated by a center axis (I). This is the concept of Parzival (which means pierce the valley). Notice how the rod intersects with the valleys of the sine wave polarities represented here by the serpents. As all things are severed into sevens, new beginnings are established at the eighth.

For example, the octave is the 8th note, ending the musical scale and beginning anew. Or, the ‘stop sign’ as the octagon, stopping to start again. And the wisdom tooth as the 8th tooth, implying the end of childhood and beginning of adulthood – a new cycle. Perhaps this sheds light on why the symbol of infinity ∞ is a sideways 8. It is regeneration: a triunity of male and female principles.

Nikola Tesla is famously quoted as saying:

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

I’ve drawn a few sine waves of varying wavelengths to reveal the simple geometry involved.

In the beginning… (vulva at the center)
Do you see the sine wave?
How about now?
“Polarity” in balance.
For illustration – increasing frequency (reducing wavelength).
Reducing wavelength even more for illustration, removing outer geometry to show polarity, honing in on only one wave (instead of two). Can you see the spiral? Think of a marble track spiraling downward. As mentioned earlier, spirit might be understood by the spiral – the path of the aspirant (you).
It’s worth noting that we’re visualizing a three-dimensional concept in two dimensions, so it is a limited perspective. The animation below helps us better understand the geometry at work.
How light (aka spirit) travels. From a center (“is,” source or pivot point of arrow), by a radius (the arrow itself), on an ellipse (the edge of the spiral). ISRAEL.
Words like “radio,” known as part of the electromagnetic spectrum, come from radius (etymonline). Radio is simply a word describing a particular wavelength (or energy level, if you will) of the spectrum.

The sine wave is so foundational to all that exists as we perceive it now. It is the name we give to exactly that which Nikola describes: energy, frequency and vibration. It is the simplest way to demonstrate polarity in motion on a two-dimensional plane… Positive, negative, positive, negative – dancing around the center line. But it is so much more than the words we use to define it…

Cycles of circles. ISRAEL describes these principles at work. Infinite possibilities.

We see the sine wave here, here and here:

It really is everywhere – these are just a few examples. The serpent on a pole, as told in the story of Moses, might be one of the most misunderstood and literalized allegories that exist today. One thing’s for sure, it is a symbol often associated with health, or freedom from dis-ease.

This ties in to the “kundalini” life force or serpent energy taught of in Buddhism.

Looks a lot like the sine wave, doesn’t it? Two ‘waves’ of opposite alternating polarities spinning around a center path, the spine.

As mentioned in a previous post, this ‘kundalini’ or ascending energy within the body is apparent when observing the paths of the Ida and Pingala nerve fluids (crossing the medulla).

I have to mention… I stumbled upon the etymology of the word “sinus,” which is described as “a hollow curve in the body.” This struck me and it soon became obvious with some further investigation that anytime the root ‘sin‘ is involved in any word, bending and curving (or otherwise known as deviating) is also implied. Sin is to deviate from the center (left/right paradigm).

Sine, sin, sinus… a sinister plot to fool us? Or a sincere effort to insinuate the truth about who we are? I would encourage you, dear reader, to investigate these words for yourself and behold their devious nature… And I mean ‘devious’ in the least devious sense possible. It is the beginning of understanding a profound truth about our nature… about polarity, opposition, duality and all its cycles.

It may very well be that when we know the nature of sin(e) we can know the center path… that path “between fire and water.”

I look forward to exploring this more. Please share your thoughts on the matter and leave a comment for further discussion!

Pattern & Matter, Paternal & Maternal

Disclaimer: This post is more a compilation of thought fragments than it is a comprehensive writing.

Disclaimer: Many concepts discussed will be a little much to make sense of or digest if this kind of ‘esoteric’ perspective is new to you. If it feels overwhelming or confusing – as may be the case with any of my posts – that is completely normal. Ultimately, trust your intuition and understand that it does take time to break down our mental conditioning.

Father & Mother, Line and Circle, Sun and Moon, Fire and Water

Adam and Eve, Odd and Even, Day and Night, Hot and Cold, Positive and Negative

Where one is split into two. Splitting of the Adam | atom. The EVEning. To dice, cut. One die, two dies or dice. The 6-sided die, the cube, unfolding into the cross, the 6th day of creation: the crossing of man.

The ETYM-ology (ATOM-ology) declares it.

MAT & PAT relate to MATernal and PATernal. PATtern in MATter (Geometry) propagates through the micro and macroscopic here in this MATerial place we call Mother Earth. Within and without, above and below (the law of correspondence).

Geometric forms emerge from this divine language. DIV-ine, to be both divisible and indivisible. One and none. That is to say, “one and not one.” The sum of the parts is one, but the whole is innumerable, in-finite.

This is our dualistic nature. NAT-ure, natal – beget at birth. We are all light, both positive and negative. Electromagnetic. We are here to go between polarity. When we do, a beautiful thing happens. The eclipse declares it. The newborn child reveals the pattern by which we make our journey of spiritual rebirth.

This life of strife, between opposites, between fire and water, between right and left is the place of new birth. The womb of new beginnings. Between Father Time (pattern, cycle, spirit) and Mother Nature (matter, material, physical).

All things here are EVEned (odd, even | Adam, Eve), doubled, mirrored. All things here are dual, split.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Equally opposite.

This pattern, perhaps most importantly of all, occurs not only outside, externally, but also inside of us. This, to my understanding, is where our true journey actually begins. Inside, within.

As within, so without. The body reveals it.

Mirrored. The body and its members. As one with its dual nature of two opposing sides. Equal, opposite.

The mind is no different as we learn to reconcile the light and dark, the joy and pain.

Inside, we toil with health and disease, strength and weakness. We are here to learn not to shun one and favour the other, but (perhaps) to understand the necessity of both.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

How can we be weak and strong at the same moment? Purely on a physical plane, that sounds like a contradiction – until we consider our dual nature. Spirit and flesh, mental faculties (mind) and body, positive and negative.

Walking, we lead with one foot and follow with the other. We intuitively know it must be this way. One leads, one follows: switching feet in order to get somewhere.

If we seek spiritual strength, then, we know physical strife is necessary (and dare I say even desirable).

What use is a seed planted but no fruit born of it? What good is a message sent with no one to receive it?

When we realize we’ve been fighting ourselves all this time, maybe reconciliation can finally begin!

Electromagnetic Duality (2)

Expanding on thoughts from part 1: Duality (pt.1)

The truth is in plain sight.

Torus | Taurus | Aura | Torah

The aura that is all around us, flowing through us and in everything.

The Torah (also known as the first five books of the bible | bi-bull) was spelled out with letters derived from the torus (as Stan Tenen’s work describes well, mentioned previously). Are they, perhaps, the same thing? Would not the truth be universal and free of doctrinal requisition?

Torah | Aura | Toral | Aural | Oral

relating to the ear or the sense of hearing.

by word of mouth; spoken rather than written.

It might not be hard to believe at this point that our aura, which I imagine as our own individual torus field, is very much connected to what we hear and, in turn, what we say… aural | oral – from aura.

In fact, the ripple effect of the very words we speak seems infinite. What we say and do does matter tremendously!

The torus, represented by the taurus bull (a symBULL as pointed out by SynchroMiss). Taurus bull, a symbol of a strong force. There are opposing forces – opposites on either side – and between them a center.

Center | Centaur

centaur (n.)
monster in Greek mythology, with the head, torso, and arms of a man joined to the body of a horse, late 14c., from Latin centaurus
derived from Greek kentauros.

Battle of Centaurs and “Wild Beasts” – pulled from Wikipedia.

According to Wikipedia… “The Greek word kentauros is generally regarded as being of obscure origin. The etymology from ken + tauros, ‘piercing bull‘, was a euhemerist suggestion in Palaephatus’ rationalizing text on Greek mythology, On Incredible Tales, which included mounted archers from a village called Nephele eliminating a herd of bulls that were the scourge of Ixion’s kingdom. Another possible related etymology can be “bull-slayer“.”

< Thoughts on this: The ‘piercing bull’ idea brings with it a notion of breaking free of the torus. The tale of Parzival and the holy grail seems to be about this as well. Parzival etymology breaks down to ‘pierce, breakthrough the valley.’ The valley is ” the river-land between two ranges of hills (vale etymology).” Is this also the narrow path?

According to Greek mythology, the centaur slays the bulls. The centaur pierces the bull.

Referring once again to the crossbow analogy:

CROSSBOW: Opposing forces of the crossbow work together. The center force is the ‘bull slayer’ that utilizes and overcomes the two opposing forces. The center|centaur consumes both bulls (forces), bringing them into unity.

I wonder if the hidden meaning of “Centaurus” (cen-taurus) implies the culmination at the center of a torus. As both opposing forces of the torus are ultimately governed by 0-9, as all things are encoded using these numbers (ten digits each side, 10×10, or 1 and 9 9, as in one hundred). Cent is known to mean ‘hundred,’ such as cent in French and the one cent coin (1/100 of a dollar). The term ‘percent’ is to represent a fraction of one hundred. And in line with recent revelations, cent brings us back to scent, nose, gnosis.

Cent | Scent | Nose | Knows | Gnosis

Etymology (
From Old Portuguese cen, from cento, from Latin centum…

cen – one hundred; 100

Usage notes: The indeclinable form cen means “one hundred” only…

Does it seem a little bit like cent in this theme is the unity of opposites? The centaur to the taurus? The bull-slayer? The magnitude of left multiplied (or amplified) by the magnitude of right? 10×10, or one more than 99 (9 and 9)?

Perhaps that’s a reach on my part… but it does get increasingly difficult to attribute anything to coincidence these days. This reasoning does bring us back to the importance of the straight and narrow path, which leads to life. Not to the left, not the the right but straight through the center. All of these cross symbols do seem to represent life, as best as I currently understand them:

  • Ankh appears be unity of opposites. To be specific, it is in the similitude of a female womb, with a left leg and right leg spread apart (duality) and the male phallus in the center, the narrow path leading to life.
  • Greek Cross (our plus sign) is, of course, used in our mathematical expressions to represent increase, addition…
  • Saltire (our multiplication sign) is ironically (or not) used again in our mathematical expressions to signify multiplicity. To “be fruitful and multiply” is the foundational function of life.
  • Christian Cross is a slight deviation from the Greek cross which appears to take on more the form of man, mapped out perfectly by a man on the cross, with the legs below and the left/right arm on either side. This, again, as with all cross symbols, appears to signify the unity of opposites leading to life. The path between fire and water.

Contrarywise, the ‘equal’ sign (=) consists of two parallel lines, never crossing. This is because it does not represent equal AND opposite, but ONLY equal. To be ONLY equal is, really, in my humble opinion, to be nothing at all. Everything in existence must have its opposite, as is clearly evident with any amount of honest reflection. The light must be contrast by the shadows. For example, to say you are a man is to say nothing at all, unless there exists a woman also – an opposite. The opposite must exist for either to exist.

A brief Interjection: Society today is offering us a false equality not properly balanced by opposites. This is inevitably leading to pure chaos, breakdown and destruction of life itself.

Yes, the balanced scale does represent equality of opposites, however, it is often misused as an illustration of equality today. The fundamentally flawed equality of today should be properly illustrated by having the man and woman both on one side of the scale, leaving the opposite side empty.

= + x

Interestingly, the difference between ‘+’ and ‘x’ is about 45 degrees… or 9. But that’s getting a little too abstract for even me.

If there should be life (“good”), there should also be death (“evil”). But the marrying of the two can’t be described by either, just as violet is unlike red and blue. The union is indescribable by opposing terms. Just as the crossbow uses left and right forces to hit its target, we in the same manner might transcend this physical plane. I’m not by any means implying partiality (a little bit good and a little bit bad), but a completely extraordinary state more in line with perfection if there ever was one.

A final thought on unity of opposites…

A cross is all about going across. It is our map to navigating this torus realm, the apple of the knowledge of opposites. Going across (a-cross) the gnosis (nose’s) bridge to real eyes (realize) and behold the Just One.

Electromagnetic Duality (1)

This post expands on: Where are we? and The Binary Illusion of Choice: The Left and Right Paradigm Hiding Truth in Plain Sight

What do you think? Is it a coincidence?

A typical torus field – visualization of outer and inner surfaces

Alleged “Van Allen Radiation Belts” around spherical earth.

Yes, there is a curve! …but it’s not the one you’re looking for. The truth is always there… between two illusory realities… between polarities.

Before we get into the torus field, I want to lay some groundwork…

As I’ve written before, we are ‘between fire and water.’ That is symbolic for this temporary place we now sojourn, as it is one of opposites. As all things are electromagnetic, all things must then be dual. There are only two polarities that exist: positive and negative. And so, all things obey this duality, equal and opposite in nature. We intuitively know fire and water to be opposites: symbolic of opposing forces that, when combined, create steam. Steam/air symbolizes spirit.

CROSSBOW: Opposing forces of the crossbow work together

The opposing forces and the straight and narrow path are right there in the design of the crossbow. It can be understood that this duality is out of absolute necessity when observing how it works. The crossbow utilizes the principle of the cross (✞), leveraging an opposing force on both the left and on the right, propelling the arrow forward. Both forces must be equal and opposite. It is part of the real meaning of the cross symbol itself. Allegory or not, wasn’t this the whole idea of Jesus’ life – to show the way, the truth and the life? …between opposing forces… through strife?

And let’s not forget that scene in “The Truman Show” where Jim Carrey (J.C. – as in Jesus Christ) makes his exit.

Final scene in “The Truman Show,” where JC presents the symbol of the cross before exiting the false reality.

It is at the end when Truman ascends the stairs and it is also at the end when his opposite (Sylvia) descends to meet him. I suspect this is symbolic of the union of opposites. Male, female and, perhaps, conscious and subconscious – or lower nature and spirit… but, in any case, union of opposites.

Even more strangely (but now, perhaps, seemingly less so), the calculated values of the two characters’ names (Truman and Sylvia) are so close that, in all cases, their value difference is just one. 1. When one is taken from the other (or vice versa) the result is 1.

Is the cross our universal exit symbol? Or, is it a symbol for transcending polarization? That is to say, a symbol for boundlessness and freedom? I will be sure to seriously ponder on this one… Speaking of ‘serious,’ wasn’t it ‘Sirius’ that caught Truman’s attention before getting into his Ford “Taurus?”

The Torus

Just as “a whirlpool is a body of rotating water produced by opposing currents…

While there are technical definitions of what a torus is, I will refrain from regurgitating them here. The truth in regards to the torus is intuitive and can be comprehended simply as a principle. A principle by which all things in this realm seem to exist.

The torus field depicted above shows how opposing forces ultimately work together. It shows how they are, indeed, connected. But, perhaps most importantly, it shows a symmetric duality culminating at a center point, while taking on the overall shape of a sphere or donut.

Similarly, we are dualistic beings. We are wired that way, with a left and a right hemisphere. We have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 arms, 2 legs… The body is a perfect symmetry – each side a mirror opposite. As we walk… left, right, left, right… But within our being, we do have a center.

Words spoken are literally spells cast, as they are ‘spelled’ out from the torus itself.

As if to ‘cast’ a shadow, a simple reorientation of the torus field vortex reveals every letter of the Hebrew alphabet (source:

The cross-section of the torus reveals a vortex pattern, which is actually a 3-dimensional spiral pattern.

A reorientation of the vortex produces the letters that make up the words we speak…

Dive into this:

The torus is, literally, the apple we all bit into.

A new way of understanding the symbolism behind the famous apple from the tree of knowledge of ‘good and evil.’

The apple is a symbol of the torus.

It’s not hard to understand when looking at these forms derived from the torus why the Taurus bull was named as such. The torus/taurus, with its opposing forces…

Opposing Taurus bulls, mirror opposites.

But what is between them? Ah, of course… the sun/son. A symbol for the truth – in plain sight: not to the right, nor to the left… but straight down the middle… the narrow path.

And the high priest answered and said to him, ‘I adjure you by the living God that you tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.’ Jesus said to him, ‘It is as you said’.

Mathew 26:63,64

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

The Illusion of Choice: The Left and Right Paradigm

To expand on a previous post

I’d like to take a moment to appreciate this scene from “The Matrix” where Neo (anagram for ‘One’ – as in ‘Anointed One’) is faced with two choices offered to him by Morpheus (Greek for “God of sleep and dreams,” according to Wikipedia). Many have speculated on the deeper meaning of this scene and now I’d like to offer my take on it for you to mull over. Here’s a snippet from that scene for context:

Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your mind. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. [opens hand, unveiling blue pill] You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. [opens hand, unveiling red pill] You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. [Speaks before Neo takes the Red Pill] Remember: all I’m offering is the truth. Nothing more.
[Neo takes the red pill after a few moments of thought, and washes it down with a mouthful of water from the glass next to him]
Morpheus: Follow me.

It strikes me as an obvious portrayal of our reality where, as I’ve alluded to previously, we’re constantly offered two choices (opposing forces): you’re either left or right, blue or red. If you follow the Matrix trilogy, you’ll know there is question as to whether or not Neo ever does actually exit the simulation at all, or if he has been fooled by the very system he wishes to be free from… Perpetually in this left/right paradigm, spiraling into the deep – just as water spirals in a whirlpool.

“A whirlpool is a body of rotating water produced by opposing currents…

Wikipedia – Whirlpool

Note that regardless of which pill he chooses, red or blue, he would still be taking it with a glass of water. Water, symbolic of this physical/material, realm.

Morpheus claims to offer ‘knowledge’ as ‘knowing’ of the truth when he says “all I’m offering is the truth.” Morpheus, however, is offering both red and blue pills… These are the left and right realities, mirrors of each other. In other terms, one could say they are the two polarities (positive and negative). When observing the image below, the mirror realities or ‘polarities’ are symbolized by the reflections in his ‘sunglasses’ (sun-shades, as if blind to the light). There are two realities, but both a reflection (mirror or opposite) of same. Notice, though, what is between them? There, in front of us hidden in plain sight? Between the two illusions is the nose – a pun for “knows.” Let’s explore that…

Two illusions, left and right, symbolized by the reflections in Morpheus’ sunglasses.

The path to knowledge (to know, nose/knows/gnosis) and piercing through illusory realities is not to the left nor to the right, but through the center. Even the nose itself has a bridge, as if to be symbolic of the ‘narrow path’ in the context of this theme.

The Truman Show: Straight and narrow bridge

Narrow path… Directly between the eyebrows. Brow can also mean the ‘summit of a hill or pass.’

As I like to defer to on this blog, a quote from the hidden book of 2 Esdras:

“…There is a city built and set on a plain, and it is full of all good things; but the entrance to it is narrow and set in a precipitous place, so that there is fire on the right hand and deep water on the left. There is only one path lying between them, that is, between the fire and the water, so that only one person can walk on the path.”

2 Esdras 7:6-8 (Apocrypha/hidden scripture)

This is an allegory for the “straight and narrow path.” Notice the irony – the city is “set on a plain,” as if to infer the truth is hidden in ‘plain’ sight. It’s also clear that no one can lead you down that path. That is to say, there’s no one we can follow to walk it. We must learn to go inward. The straight and narrow path is illustrated symbolically throughout various texts. Here are a few popular examples:

“Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.”

Proverbs 4:27 – another reference to the two polarities, or polarizations of reality. Evil is that which deviates from the centre.

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ”

Mark 1:3

Even Jesus is quoted as saying:

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Mathew 7:13-14
Physical symbol/imagery: Path Between Fire and Water

We are tempered through strife.

49 He answered me and said, “Listen to me, Ezra, and I will instruct you, and will admonish you yet again. 50 For this reason the Most High has made not one world but two. 51 For whereas you have said that the righteous are not many but few, while the ungodly abound, hear the explanation for this.

52 “If you have just a few precious stones, will you add to them lead and clay?”

53 I said, “Lord, how could that be?”

54 And he said to me, “Not only that, but ask the earth and she will tell you; defer to her, and she will declare it to you. 55 Say to her, ‘You produce gold and silver and brass, and also iron and lead and clay; 56 but silver is more abundant than gold, and brass than silver, and iron than brass, and lead than iron, and clay than lead.’ 57 Judge therefore which things are precious and desirable, those that are abundant or those that are rare?”

58 I said, “O sovereign Lord, what is plentiful is of less worth, for what is more rare is more precious.”

59 He answered me and said, “Weigh within yourself what you have thought, for he who has what is hard to get rejoices more than he who has what is plentiful.

Edit Log: Post updated Feb 7, 2022. Adapted recent understanding of polarity to the “left/right” concept.

All Things Come About by Strife

“Between Fire and Water,” in symbolic terms, is where we are. The necessary path.

“…There is a city built and set on a plain, and it is full of all good things; but the entrance to it is narrow and set in a precipitous place, so that there is fire on the right hand and deep water on the left. There is only one path lying between them, that is, between the fire and the water, so that only one person can walk on the path.”

2 Esdras 7:6-8
